We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Nutrition Community Mobilizer
Openings: Three (3) Position
Location: Tarmuwa LGA, Yobe State
Employment Type: Contract
Period: 4 months (with possibility of extension)
Renumeration: The Payment is good

Reports To: Nutrition Supervisor and Nutrition Officer
Required Travel: 25%

General Position Summary
The Nutrition Community Mobilizer will directly be accountable in the development, administration and implementation of the program engagement with the host communities in Yobe State. The responsibilities and activities of the Nutrition Community Mobilizer will be extensive and fluid, depending on the shifting needs of the program, and are likely to include but not be limited to those described below.

Essential Job Responsibilities 

• Assist in conducting baseline and endline evaluation activities;
• Assist in conducting focus-group discussions in the community;
• Mobilize community for nutrition activities;
• Conduct house-to-house MUAC screening of children under the age of 5;
• Conduct follow-up visits to households in which cases of MAM and SAM are found;
• Accompany the caregivers and children suffering from MAM or SAM to treatment facilities;
• Transmit key IYCF messaging to parents and other child caregivers;
• Assist mothers and other care-givers in learning how to effectively use locally available food to prepare nutritious food for their household and for the rehabilitation of malnourished children;
• Participate in the implementation of Blanket Supplementary Feeding (BSF) programs, if funding becomes available;
• Promptly report any problems or challenges encountered during daily activities to a supervisor;
• Serve as community focal point for NEYIF, receiving feedback from community members and transmit it to supervisors;
• Adhere to safety and security protocols at all times;
• Adhere to the standards of behavior set forth in the project code of conduct;
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Line Manager;
• Conduct duties in accordance with NEYIF’s programming and protection Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
• Conduct duties in strict compliance accordance with NEYIF Code of Conduct and the principle of confidentiality.
• Maintain and promote a positive image of NEYIF and its activities by explaining what NEYIF is doing and why NEYIF operates in that way.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Professional Standards:
• The NEYIF staff and NEYIF workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in
the code of Conduct.
Required qualifications:
• Diploma, NCE, SSCE and equivalent in relevant field.
• Demonstrated capacity in technical support and coordination.
• Must have crossed –cultural sensitivity, problem solving and negotiation skills.
• Ability to cope and work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
• Effective multi-tasking, organizational capacity, prioritization skills are necessary.
• English (written and spoken) is required.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is essential.
• Ability to work in a multicultural context as a flexible and respectful team player.
• Experience of work in the UN or NGO or voluntary sector is preferred but not
essential.
