NEYIF Delivers Essential Hygiene Kits to 400 Flood-Affected Households in Yobe State.

NEYIF, with funding support from Save the Children International (SCI) under the Multi-Crisis Response Project, has successfully distributed hygiene kits to 400 vulnerable households in Karasuwa and Nguru Local Government Areas of Yobe State. This intervention responds directly to the urgent needs of families affected by recent flooding in the state.

Floods create conditions where waterborne diseases and hygiene-related illnesses can spread rapidly. Displaced families often lose access to basic sanitation facilities and essential supplies, placing them at heightened risk. In providing hygiene kits to affected households, NEYIF aims to reduce these health risks while helping families maintain dignity during a challenging period.

NEYIF reached 400 households across two local government areas with comprehensive hygiene kits. Each kit contained essential items to address immediate sanitation needs and encourage healthy hygiene practices among beneficiaries.

This activity was carried out in close coordination with relevant government bodies and community stakeholders. Representatives from the Local Government WASH Unit and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) attended the distribution exercise, alongside respected community leaders. Their presence ensured transparency, strengthened local ownership, and reinforced the collective commitment to supporting affected communities.
