Job Summary:
The Security Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the organization’s security protocols and procedures to safeguard employees, clients, and assets. This role involves assessing risks, managing security operations, and ensuring compliance with security policies. The Security Coordinator will work closely with other departments and external agencies to maintain a secure environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities
STRATEGY & VISION
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment and access points; permitting entry
- Obtain help by sounding alarms
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers
- Control traffic by directing drivers
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures
- Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
- Maintain organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
- Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
- Provide excellent customer service
- Adhere to all NEYIF Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
- Remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and beneficiaries
- Protect the NEYIF assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues
- Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control and accident investigations

- Maintain and promote a positive image of NEYIF and its activities by explaining what NEYIF is doing and why NEYIF operates in that way.
- Qualifications & Preferred Skills Professional Standards:
- The NEYIF and NEYIF workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in the code of Conduct.
Required qualifications:
- A degree in criminal justice, security management, sociology, business administration, or a related field is often preferred.
- Several years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is required. Experience in a supervisory or management role within a security team is highly valued.
- Proficiency in assessing security risks, developing security plans, and managing incidents or emergencies is crucial.
- Strong leadership abilities are essential for overseeing security personnel, managing operations, and coordinating responses to incidents.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for interacting with staff, preparing reports, and liaising with law enforcement and emergency services.
- The ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations is vital.
- Security Coordinator must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring that security protocols are followed and incidents are handled efficiently.
- Familiarity with security systems, such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems, is important. Basic computer skills, including proficiency with security management software, are also required.
- A thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to security, privacy, and safety is essential.
- Expertise in developing and implementing security and safety protocols, including emergency response plans, is important.
- Security Coordinator must be meticulous in monitoring security systems, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Physical fitness is important
- A clean criminal record is and drug testing is required.
- Security Coordinator should participate in ongoing training to stay updated on the latest security technologies, regulations, and best practices.
To be successful in this role you must have: Experience in management of a team and excellent analysis and reporting skills; with a high regard toward preserving confidentiality of work-related information and data.
