General Position Summary
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL). The MEAL manager will work in close collaboration with field staff in the different sectors to support teams to optimize MEAL capacities and opportunities to ensure high-quality programming for the clients we serve and support.
Essential Job Responsibilities
STRATEGY & VISION
- Manage all technical aspects and actions of MEAL regarding setting up a robust monitoring plan, developing monitoring and evaluation guidelines, frameworks, indicator matrix, and data flow plans working in close collaboration with the Program technical coordinators/Managers, and responding to program needs; foster high standards and practices for quality data, analysis, and reports through the project life cycle.
- Enable accountability to clients, partners, and donors.
- Improve MEAL systems and approaches and foster learning.
- Represent NEYIF at technical meetings, forums, and other events & build partnerships within NEYIF and other areas of expertise.
- Champion design, access, and use of data by leaders and partners for shared learning and evidence-based decision-making and adaptations.
- Collaborate with MEAL teams within and outside NEYIF to support the harmonization of MEAL systems and approaches, sharing capacity and experiences.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Line Manager;
- Conduct duties in accordance with NEYIF’s programming and protection Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
- Conduct duties in strict compliance in accordance with NEYIF Code of Conduct and the principle of confidentiality.
- Maintain and promote a positive image of NEYIF and its activities by explaining what NEYIF is doing and why NEYIF operates in that way.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills Professional Standards:
- The NEYIF and NEYIF workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in the code of Conduct.
Required qualifications:
- University degree in computer sciences, social and management sciences or other related discipline;
- Relevant professional experience of five-seven (5-7) years, preferably in emergency and/or development context;
- Prior experience or familiarity with REDROSE APPLICATION KNOWLEDGE would be a distinct advantage;
- Prior experience or familiarity with NGO sector would be an advantage;
- Familiarity with international protection and human rights legal standards, with special emphasis on children rights, women rights and SGBV would be a distinct advantage.
- Good spoken and written English and Hausa/Kanuri will be an added advantage.
- A high respect to client/organization confidentiality.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and respect for people with special needs and other vulnerability.
- Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data preferred.
- Experience using MS Windows, MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and AI knowledge.
