NEYIF Conducted 2-Days Capacity Building Training for Teachers on PVE and Pedagogy in Sokoto State.
North East Youth Initiative for Development Sokoto Regional Office concluded 2-days Teacher’s training on the Prevention of Violent Extremism. The training which took place on 25th and 26th of July 2024 was held at the main Hall, Islamic Education Trust (I.E.T) Center Sokoto State.
The Two-day capacity-building workshop is aimed at training the Headteachers/principals and teachers on how to effectively guide students and their families in discussions focused on tolerance and diversity, interfaith communication, identification of factors and potential warning signs of radicalization leading to violent extremism, and outreach to at-risk youth. The teachers were also trained on Psychosocial support and social and emotional learning and Pedagogy.
At the end of the training teachers were charged to incorporate the learning into their teaching curriculum.
